New Nursing Home In Nowra

Illawarra Mercury

Monday November 11, 2002

By MEGAN LEVY

THE Shoalhaven received a boost to its aged-care facilities at the weekend when a new nursing home was opened in South Nowra.

The new $6.2 million Anglicare Chesalon Nursing Home provides accommodation for up to 60 elderly people and has two temporary respite care beds.

The state-of-the-art building replaces the 52-bed Chesalon Nursing Home in Nowra, built 30 years ago.

The upgrade is part of Anglicare's goal to refurbish its eight nursing homes in Sydney, Wollongong and the Shoalhaven by 2008.
